Aisha, 5 yr Malay girl, was born FTSVD. She wassaid to be well until6 months when she developed afebrile seizures. Her parents divorced when she was 2, and now is been taken cared by her stepmother. Since 6 months she is having seizures, now fairly controlled with sodium valporate. she has GTCS as well as absence seizures.
her MRI showed that she has Shizencephaly with centrum semiovale and left occipital gliosis.
New Neurons from pluripotent neuroepithelium migrate by attaching to radial glial fibre. Mouse gene Gene Reelin and mdab1 help to locate new neurones to their sites.
Schizencephaly is presenceof unilateral or bilateral clefts within cerebral hemisphere.
