kai is a 3 year old malay girl, youngest of 3 siblings with no medical problems in the family from non related parents. She is currently admitted with break throught urinary tract infection.
kai is a bright looking child, with throca lumbar myelomeningocele, hydrocephalus and neurogenic bladder with diplegia.
She was born full term, NVD, wth good birth weight.
her mother has no medical problems , did not knew that she wqas pregnant so failed to take folate untill sshe miiswed her periods, not on any medication, She never had fever but went to sauna before she knew she was pregnant. she is not diabetic.
(the 2 risk factors that i was able to dig out was failure to take folate and going to sauna during the first trimester)
she was diagnosed to have soina bifida very lately. it was informed to the parents but never offered intra uterine surical management)
wat is the status of fortification of food in malaysia?
she is diplegic.
