MDS

MDS has an agreed definition but the details that followed still need lots of answers. MDS is a heterogenouse group of disorders of clonal cells in BM resulting in ineffective hematopoesis with variable risk to transform into AML.
there r about 20 names used for this condition before.
how does the name effect the patient?
1. picture of the disease - dyplasia, preleukemia, has different faces
2. explenation to patient by doctors differ
3. insurance policies also differ
4. research funding also differ
5. welfare people also have different opinions helping patient.
syndrome itself means there r questions tht r nt answered yet, just look at clinton n supermom syndromes (any way 5p syndrome is ony one tht fits there, hypolobulated megakaryocytres n deletion with an unknown gene defect)
